Impulse Purchase; Dimension & RADiUS-TWC Team for Alexandre Aja’s “Horns”

There’ll calling it an off-beat supernatural thriller, where’ll calling it a welcome departure from the filmmaker who balsted onto the scene with a great Euro-horror sample High Tension. Starring a robust Daniel Radcliffe, Deadline reports that Alexandre Aja’s Horns has been picked up post-TIFF in an all Weinstein tag-team deal by Dimension and RADiUS-TWC. A 2014 release is in the cards.

Gist: Based on the novel by comic book author Joe Hill, blamed for the brutal murder of his longtime girlfriend (Juno Temple), a small-town guy (Daniel Radcliffe) awakens one morning to find a pair of horns growing from his head.

Worth Noting: Dimension previously released Alex Aja’s Piranha 3D.

Do We Care?: This was among the better offerings at this year’s Midnight Madness section at TIFF (programmers called it “a surreal storyline are evocative of the much beloved cult hit Twin Peaks,” with rave reviews going to Aja’s style and Radcliffe’s perf.
