Emily Blunt Books Seat On Black List Favorite ‘Passengers’?

Could Emily Blunt be the new “go-to” girl for futuristic sci-fi films? With Universal currently getting ready to push her presence in The Adjustment Bureau and fresh from her gig on Looper, it appears Blunt might be in talks to star opposite Keanu Reeves in Passengers — the Universal project is slated to be directed by Gabriele Muccino.

Gist: A spaceship passenger is prematurely thawed from a cryogenic slumber a century before anyone else.

Worth Noting: This found itself on the annual Black List in the number three spot in 2007.

Do We Care: We’ve always liked the blend of sci-fi and romance genres – and really like the premise here. Let’s just hope Keanu doesn’t star in it.
