Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2013: #41. Richard Linklater’s Before Midnight

Before Midnight

Director: Richard Linklater
Writer(s): Linklater, Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy
Producer(s): Christos V. Konstantakopoulos, Sara Woodhatch
U.S. Distributor: Warner Bros.
Cast: Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy, Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, Ariane Labed, Athina Rachel Tsangari, Xenia Kalogeropoulou

Linklater hasn’t been slowing down, Bernie unassumingly made the rounds and critic circles acknowledged that this true life character study was among the year’s best. Before Midnight is already cherished thanks to characters that we’ve adored from the previous two installments. Much like a Bergman-esque reunion, this contains great dialogue and chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy assure the third chapter will be just as endearing. My Prediction: Celine and Jesse did get together and added a third wheel. Seven year itch becomes a reality.

Gist: We meet Jesse and Celine nine years on in Greece. Almost two decades have passed since their first meeting on that train bound for Vienna.

Release Date: Sundance Film Festival Premieres section selection. With no release date set, it would be in Warner Bros. best interest to find a strategy to capitalize on the fest buzz.
