In 2001, he directs the short ...ya no puede caminar (...Can' t Walk Anymore) honoured more than 40 times at film festivals worldwide. It notably receives the prestigious Silver Méliès, making it one of the best fantastic shorts of Europe in the year 2002. Over the past two years, he's written large a large number screenplays, including Cuento de Navidad, a horror film by Paco Plaza (better known under the titles Xmas Tale or The Werewolf Hunt). He equally wrote Insensibles, starring Juan Carlos Medina, that he himself will direct, and last but not least, The Princess of Eboli, a historic superproduction about one of the most mysterious figures in the entire history of Spain, to be directed by Imanol Uribe (Running Out of Time, The Dumbfounded King) in the coming months. In 2005, his second short, Guerra (The War), which he codirected with Jorge C. Dorado, screens in competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. |
