Neil Jordan
Jordan was a novelist before making films like Mona Lisa (1986). His most successful film was The Crying Game (1992), which won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. He has followed this up with Interview With the Vampire (1994) and a great film called The Butcher Boy (1997). The End of the Affair (1999) won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay at the BAFTA Film Awards.
