SYNOPSIS

This an adaptation of the Paulo Coelho novel which follows the journey of self-discovery undertaken by a traveler who ventures beyond his borders in Spain during the Inquisition, trying to understand man's purpose on the planet. Fishburne will play the part of Santiago, an Andalucian shepherd.

  Variety reports that The Weinstein Company announced that Harvey Weinstein will produce the project which Laurence Fishburne has been confirmed to direct, star and produce with Helen Sugland. Paula Weinstein and Kathy Morgan are serving as executive producers, along with Steven Markoff and Bruce McNall from A-Mark Entertainment. : 2008-05-18
