In the best tradition of the Spaghetti Western, this is a wry look at the moral ambiguity of an outlaw who reluctantly develops strong feelings for Isabella, a young English woman he has kidnapped during a saloon robbery. As ready to shoot as he is unwilling to speak, he rides off with Isabella across his saddle leaving a trail of bodies behind them, and a posse in hot pursuit. When the feisty Isabella tries to escape, to teach her a lesson about who’s boss, he attempts to ”have his way with her” but is struck by a bout of performance anxiety. Unable to understand the reason for his erectile dysfunction, he goes off with his captive in tow in search of a cure, visiting a town Doctor, Chinese herbalists, and a Native American medicine man. In the process, Wallis reveals a deep vein of decency in his “Man-with-no-name” and draws him into a unconventional and tender love story as this unlikely duo ultimately choose to help each other survive.
