SYNOPSIS

Based on an original idea from writers Abdel Raouf Dafri and Nicolas Teurfaillit, sentenced to eight years prison, Malik El Djebna, does not read nor write. Upon his arrival at the penitentiary, he is lonely and more vulnerable than any of the other prisoners. He is only 18. He is immediately spotted by the Corsican gang who rules the prison. But he is a survivor and learns very fast. He does odd jobs for Cesar, the Corsican boss, and gains his trust. But very quickly, Malik, uses all his intelligence and guts to secretly set up his own empire. For the Corsicans, he plays the role of an obedient servant but when they arrange for Malik to be regularly released on day passes in order to do their bidding on the outside, he takes advantage of the situation and secretly sets up his own drug syndicate. Little by little, he gains in esteem, power and competence and plays the dangerous game of double crossing the Corsicans. Eventually, he manages to wipe them out with the exception of Cesar whom he ignores. When he is finally released from prison word of his cunning deeds and financial contributions to the mosque have spread amongst the Muslims and he is treated as an Arab hero. It’s clear that he has beaten the Corsicans at their own game and become the big boss of the Arab mafia.
