SYNOPSIS
Scripted by Julian Fellowes, this will focus on the first, often turbulent, years of the monarch's rule -- she became queen at 18 -- and her legendary romance and marriage to Prince Albert. Devastated by her husband's death in 1861, she wore black for the rest of her life and remained largely secluded.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Paul Bettany and Thomas Kretschmann will join the project - Bettany will play Lord Melbourne, the adviser who helped Britain's Queen Victoria (Blunt) learn about government and politics. Kretschmann will play Victoria's uncle, King Leopold of Belgium. : 2007-08-18
Variety reports that Jim Broadbent, Mark Strong and Miranda Richardson have joined the pic - Broadbent will play King William, Victoria’s uncle, while Richardson has been cast as the Duchess of Kent, Victoria’s mother. Mark Strong has been cast as the devious Conroy. : 2007-08-02

Emily Blunt was just perfect for her role of Young Queen Victoria--a good story about her early life--not for all to see-if looking for action or car chases etc
