SYNOPSIS
De Felitta's examination into the art and mysterious life of legendary jazz vocalist Jackie Paris. Using both new and archival performance footage, found footage, still photography, historical audio clips and rare unreleased recordings, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Raymond De Felitta ("Café Society," "Two Family House," "The Thing About My Folks") conducts on-camera interviews with the late Jackie Paris as well as many of the musicians, songwriters and personalities who knew him best. Hailed as the new sound of the day and working with some of the biggest names in jazz—Charlie Parker, Lionel Hampton, and Charles Mingus to name a few—Jackie Paris went from singing sensation to footnote in a generation. "'Tis Autumn" unearths what was at the heart of Jackie Paris' glorious art and enigmatic career in a film that DownBeat describes as "a compelling investigation" and Variety calls "magnificent and moving."
