Formerly titled "Tonight, He Comes", the project is about a tortured superhero who crash-lands in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and tries to revitalize himself by romancing an alluring housewife -- causing chaos in the city. Smith plays a down-and-out superhero who has a bad image with the public because he causes a lot of collateral damage while he solves crime, and he's an alcoholic. Bateman plays a corporate public relations consultant, who after being rescued by Smith tries to repay him by revamping his image. But while Bateman is trying to repair Smith's reputation the superhero is secretly romancing Bateman's alluring wife played by Theron.

Jonathan Mostow will direct the film, replacing the once rumored Michael Mann in the director's chair. Vince Gilligan has already done a rewrite and will script another draft under Mostow's supervision once the Columbia deal is finalized. A holiday 2006 release is being eyed.
