This is a remake of its 1967 film starring Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn as parents whose attitudes are challenged when their daughter begins dating a black man, played by Sidney Poitier. The new version will have the ethnicities reversed, with Mac playing the Tracy role of the father whose daughter dates a white man. Kutcher plays a man marrying a black woman whose father (Mac) is having difficulty coming to terms with the marriage.
