This follows Leila (Lauren Lee Smith), a twenty-something sexual adventurer, through a steamy summer of anonymous sex, compulsive porn viewing--and awakening to responsibility and real emotion. The arrival of David (Eric Balfour) in her life is one catalyst to change, as he refuses to let sex be the only thing in their relationship; the impending breakup of her parents is the other. Faced with an unwanted and unexpected end to her prized libertine lifestyle, Leila must find new ways to respond to her desires. At times sexually explicit, Lie With Me breaks a major cinematic taboo: here, Toronto is allowed to play Toronto.
