This is based on Zeman's article about Bruno P. Zehnder. This is about a penguin photographer who struggled with the difficulty of being an artist in Antarctica as well as keeping that part of the world free from human influence. The film is a love story centered around the true story of Bruno P. Zehnder, who dedicated his life to photographing Emperor penguins in the Antarctic, and his love affair with a New York-based doctor who accompanied him on one of his photographic journeys.
