It was shut out by the jury members at this year’s festival, but Pedro Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In topped call films in our inaugurl Cannes Critics’ Panel betting out the likes of the The Dardennes, Lars Von Trier, Aki Kaurismaki and Terrence Malick who all tied for second with their respective films with a cumulative rating of 2.9. Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive was one notch away from joining these peers. The film that drew the least amount of enthusiasm was the end of festival showings of Radu Mihăileanu’s The Source.
We’d like to thank the following panel members: David Calhoun (U.K), Per Juul Carlsen (Denmark), Paola Casella (Italy) Andrei Cretulescu (Romania), Carlos F. Heredero (Spain), Fabien Lemercier (Belgium), Guy Lodge (South Africa), Christophe Beney (France), James Rocchi (U.S), Elisabeth Quin (France), Isabelle Regnier (France), Cédric Succivalli (France), Anne Thompson (U.S), Clarence Tsui (Hong Kong), and Eduardo Valente (Brazil) for participating. We’ll be coming back next year, perhaps bigger…but definitely better.

"Ron and I wanted to make a film that looked at what it means to be an outsider and we wanted to explore what it takes to reach out to someone whose life is very removed from your own."
