2012 Cannes Film Festival Predictions: Jaime Rosales’ Dream and Silence

Gist: Combining a traditional grief narrative with a Lady on a Train twist, a family is in a terrible car accident that steals the life of their young daughter. The father awakens from a coma a few days later perfectly fine, except that he has no recollection of his deceased daughter having ever existed.

Prediction: With many of the L’Atelier class of 2010 starting to surface this year, it’s high time for Rosales’ hotly anticipated dreamscape to rise and shine. His Solitary Fragments came together in Un Certain Regard in 2007, and this new film should do the same.
