Video: Dee Rees’ Mudbound – 2017 Sundance Film Fest Post Screening Q&A

With Gotham noms (and pre-win) in hand, and subsequent awards friendly screenings at both TIFF, NYFF and AFI, Netflix likely have Oscar on their mind. Mudbound would have been a favorite won the U.S. Dramatic Comp if programmers had placed it there, but after the 2017 Sundance Film Festival Post Screening Q&A at the Eccles premiere Dee Rees likely got had ideas on the bigger picture. Select crew, cast members Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Mary J. Blige, Rob Morgan, Jason Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund and noteworthy producers Cassian Elwes and Charles D. King were on hand. Rees discusses the adaptation of the book, working the elements, perfs and author Hillary Jordan discussed the origins of how the book came about. It’s out in limited release today.
