Sundance ’18: Lynne Ramsay, Armando Iannucci, Samuel Maoz & Chloé Zhao in the Spotlight

The best film at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and this film critic’s top film of 2017 will likely have its North American debut at the majestic Sundance Film Fest. Oddly removed from today’s press release, we just learned that Lynne Ramsay‘s You Were Never Really Here has now been tagged with an April release date by Amazon Studios. It, along with Chloé Zhao’s The Rider and I Am Not a Witch are the carry overs from Cannes, while a quartet of items are coming over from TIFF in choice items such as Michael Pearce‘s Beast, Armando Iannucci‘s The Death of Stalin and Foxtrot by Samuel Maoz. The weird duckling (or chickling) of the batch of six officially mentioned below is the subpar docu Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken!.

In the days following Stalin’s collapse, his core ministers tussle for control; some want positive change, others have more sinister motives. Their one common trait?
