Midway through the Sundance film festival, I dropped by at the top of Main Street for Matthew Lessner‘s sophomore film, the Slamdance preemed Automatic at Sea – a hypotonic, elliptically constructed voyage or vaca pic that if I had to describe in one sentence is an aesthetically translucid piece of avant-garde cinema. With players Breeda Wool, David Henry Gerson and introducing Livia Hiselius, the coast of New England will never be the same with these folkloric folks. Automatic at Sea debuts on VOD today — here was the post screening Q&A at Slamdance last January.
