Hormones and Horror…David Robert Mitchell Switches Genres with “It Follows”

The Myth Of The American Sleepover helmer began production last month on his sophomore pic and it’s Screen Daily who flagged our attention earlier today with Visit Films’ Ryan Kampe repping the title for the upcoming AFM. David Robert Mitchell is currently shooting around Detroit on It Follows, a film that stars At Any Price‘s Maika Monroe (follow her tweets @MaikaMonroe and Keir Gilchrist (It’s Kind of a Funny Story). Northern Lights Films’ Rebecca Green, Laura D Smith and Erik Rommesmo and Animal Kingdom’s David Kaplan are producing.

Gist: This is being called “a terrifying coming-of-age nightmare about sex, love and the unseen horrors that follow us”.

Worth Noting: The SXSW preemed The Myth Of The American Sleepover received its international premiere in Cannes.

Do We Care?: His take on adolescence served him well for his debut feature, now spinning youth culture within the branch of horror could definitely make this blood curlingly attractive.
