More comfort food in th form of female-driven storylines, Nicole Holofcener and her muse, Catherine Keener, are looking to partner in a NYC-based drama that would go into lensing this year. The pair have previously worked on Walking and Talking, Lovely and Amazing and Friends With Money.
The untitled Nicole Holofcener project will center on a set of neighbors in the New York building, including a woman (Keener) who lives next door to a cantankerous elderly woman. It explores the interactions between Keener's character, who owns the woman's apartment, the woman and her two granddaughters, in what's described as an examination of "life, death and real estate."
Anthony Bregman will produce the film via his Likely Story banner - the project is expected to film in first-quarter 2008 to beat a potential actors strike.
