Blood picks up National Society of Film Critics accolades

Paul Thomas Anderson's masterpiece dominated the National Society of Film Critics' 42nd edition claiming best picture, director, actor and cinematography. This win confirms a passing thought that I have - the earlier lists year-end lists were placing No Country for Old Men as tops, while the end of December lists have pegged There Will Be Blood. Two significant awards cateogires that differ from most common lists is the Best Experimental Film award which this year goes to John Gianvito's "Profit Motive and the Whispering Wind” and the Film Heritage Award goes to what seems like a really cool DVD box set (it was featured on Ebert & Roeper) called Ford at Fox, a 21-disc box set from Fox Home Video Ross Lipman, UCLA Film and Television Archive. Here is the complete list of winners below:

My casting director suggested her and I went to Paris to meet her. She loved the script and she's an amazing actress so of course I wanted to work with her. Playing an artist is very hard as it can come of as super fake, but Elodie is an artist in real life and that translated. Who doesn't like Dream Life of Angels?!

I wanted to change my body. I wanted to be a little bit more masculine and get rid of my female body. I wanted to be more like a boy. I wanted to be able to do all the fighting scenes, so I wanted to go into martial arts training. I trained a lot in Thai boxing and kickboxing with this crazy Serbian guy five days a week. I did a lot of preparation, and I also took motorcycle driving lessons, and I cut my hair and pierced myself.
