Enough of Shakespeare and corsets, John Madden is banking in on the teenage dramedy trend that's been sweeping the box offices. The Oscar-nominated, Shakespeare in Love director has signed on to helm the modern-day teen angst movie Sex and Sylvia Plath.
Helen Mirren is on on board to play a Mossad agent (think CIA) in John Madden's English language remake of Assaf Bernstein's 2007 Israeli film "HaHov".
It has been a strange, difficult trajectory for the director who (with the big help of the Weinsteins) once won the Academy Award for Best Picture for Shakespeare in Love, and now has his latest film shelved for the better part of a couple of years.
