Many would say that at this year's Academy Awards got the documentary film category "right". The "right" doc film won and even the final nominees were worthy mentions. But all this doesn't make the Cinema Eye Honors mission less "important".

If you are documentary film fan, and you had to pick just one, then a day like today would surely be an inconvenience.

They don't have anything showing here in the competition categories, but they have a good ensemble of projects in the post production phase which means 2009 is shaping up to be a good year for output. Paramount Vantage have a dozen or so projects include the Sundance hit American Teen and some cool sounding flicks in Alex Pastor' Carriers and Jeff Nachmanoff's Traitor.

At first glance, I roll my eyes. I've heard of this flick...the high school doc posing as a real-life, modern day Breakfast Club.
