2012 Cannes Film Festival Predictions: Pablo Agüero’s Petit’ Argentina

Published on

Gist: Protagonist Lisandro is a moody and hyperactive Argentinian architecture student. He comes to Paris for a graduation trip and submits a project proposal for the reconstruction of the city centre, though he has never built anything. Agüero elaborates, “Whenever I tell people that Lisandro is going to construct a house in the middle of Paris all by himself, on a vacant lot, using recycled material, Europeans imagine that this film will be done in a fantasy genre…This, in essence, is the tragicomedy of Lisandro.”

Prediction: Agüero received support from TorinoFilmLab in 2009 for the project, so it should be about finished. His Salamandra played the 2008 Fortnight, and we imagine that’d be the perfect spot to unveil this one, too.
