The Perfect Storm; Zeitgeist Reteams with Docu Pair for Telluride’s Murder Mystery

Published on

Among the unexpected title mentions in today’s highly anticipated Telluride line-up unveilingBallets Russes docu pairing Dayna Goldfine and Dan Geller will reteam with indie outfitter Zeitgeist Films once again on The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came to Eden – which on paper sounds like a fascinatingm anthropological murder mystery in what appears to have been egomaniacal playground. THR reports that Zeitgeist is planning a theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles in early Spring 2014 and we wouldn’t be surprised if the film is showcased at major Docu fests such as DOC NYC and IFDA.

Gist: Co-written by Celeste Schaefer Snyder with Goldfine/Gellar, the doc is set in the Galapagos Islands in the 1930s, following a few individuals who settled on the remote island seeking their own distinct and sometimes clashing notions of Eden.

Worth Noting: The docu utilizes a narration team comprised of Cate Blanchett, Diane Kruger, Connie Nielsen and Josh Radnor to characterize some of the main players who inhibited the island – the docu is built with archival motion picture footage, rchival photographs, letters, manuscripts and articles.

Do We Care?: World premiere takes place tomorrow – we look forward in measuring the doc’s critical reception – here’s a fairly comprehensive breakdown of the characters including Friedrich Ritter and Dore Strauch nicknamed “The Adam and Eve of the Galapagos” (see pic above).
