Ana Katz Settles in ‘Los Marziano’

We unfortunately don’t put enough of the spotlight on film activity in countries such as Argentina (something we’d like to change) so whenever there is a piece of news about filmmakers, especially those that have presented their work in the big five festivals then we like to make a mention of it here. Argentinean actress and filmmaker Ana Katz, who Variety describes with fellow filmmakers Lucia Puenzo and Celina Murga, as belonging to the Second Wave of New Argentine Cinema, is getting ready to lense Los Marziano in the new year (Feb. 15 in Buenos Aires to be exact).

Budgeted at 1.5 million, written by Ana and Daniel Katz, Guillermo Francella and Arturo Puig play brothers who haven’t seen each other in a long time. Mercedes Morán (The Holy Girl) plays Puig’s wife. Katz last directed The Stray Girlfriend (a.k.a A Wandering Bride) – a sort of Morvern Callar from Argentina.
