Has the cat gotten out of the bag? Apart from the official opening film announcement, a rocking homage to Blaxploitation era films may have found a premium place at this year’s Sundance. I can’t seem to quote a direct source, and while “errors” do occur (whether it be in the I can’t shut my trap realm or let’s build something out of nothing kind) I suppose there might be some truth to Black Dynamite dropping by especially in a festival where a lighter note is always appreciated with a programming that on some days make you want to crawl into a ball and never leave your bed.

If you don’t know who Scott Sanders is you should ask Alec Baldwin. In what I assume was a non-theatrical release, Sanders’s debut came in 98’s Thick Thieves. A decade later, he has perfected the indie film marketing campaign: effective looking official site (look for an Asian poster version for the film) and the type of trailer that is already a favorite among readers and probably like-minded folk like Tarantino. If it doesn’t find a spot in Park City (Midnight slot would be ideal) then we can mutherf**king expect this to play out at SXSW or Tribeca.
