Brandon Routh among those set to do the ‘Unthinkable’

With Tarsem dropping out of the picture, Gregor Jordan (Ned Kelly/Buffalo Soldiers) replacing him and Sam Jackson being the first player to sign onto the project, I felt that Unthinkable had lost a couple of its feathers. This ‘disinterest’ for the project has changed as of last week when Michael Sheen signed on as the film’s antagonistic force and today’s signing of supporting players in Brandon Routh (who was originally attached to star in Jordan’s upcoming The Informers), Gil Bellows, Martin Donovan and Carrie-Anne Moss means that Senator Entertainment are making some serious strides in making sure that their slate of 2009 releases find larger audiences.

Scripted by Peter Woodward and Oren Moverman, this delves into psychological manipulation centering on the interrogation of a man who knows the location of three nuclear weapons set to detonate in the U.S. Routh and Bellows play members of an FBI anti-terrorism team run by Agent Brody (Moss). With the help of a black-ops agent (Jackson), they’re assigned by an FBI director (Donovan) to interrogate an American Muslim man (Sheen) claiming to have nuclear bombs planted in three U.S. cities.

Lensing begins in about two weeks from now on Oct. 20 in Los Angeles.
