Some exciting news here with director/photographer Anton Corbijn – the director who has found himself on more than one location shoot will get to use his location scouting skills to find urban pockets for his sophomore effort (the great news here is that he is making a career out of this and Control was not his soul passion project.

The Dutch director is taking on a Rowan Joffe (28 Weeks Later) script adaptation of the Martin Booth novel about an assassin who hides out in an idyllic Italian town where he will carry out one final assignment. Going against his usual aversion to human connections, he engages in friendship and romance in the town, a decision that complicates his work. The picture sounds in the vein of several other films (we have seen the professional killer side-tracked by human interests before), so let’s hope that somehow he brings his tool belt of previous work to the tableu.

Originally set up as a Universal project, this has trickled down to its distribution farm team with This Is That’s Anne Carrey producing. The production is set to begin in the fall.
