It is no secret that Michel Gondry, the brilliant brain behind the much loved Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the soon to be fav The Science of Sleep, got his start with music videos.

Gondry cemented his genius in the film world by becoming the go-to-guy for cool hipster videos, famously working with artists such as Daft Punk, Bjork, and The Chemical Brothers, bringing a much needed breath of fresh air to the MTV generation.

Despite Gondry’s recent mega-star status, he keeps coming back to his roots -shooting unique music videos for unique musicians. Beck just so happens to be one of those lucky clients. Rolling Stone Magazine has released the behind the scenes pics for Beck’s new track “Cell Phones Dead” (off of his currently untitled October album) that capture the exceptionality and rarity of a Gondry production. Here is a sampling of some of the pics found at Rolling Stone magazine.
