Gosling gets down to the ‘Bones’

Published on

There are a multitude of reasons for an actor to choose the indie film route. For thesps who’ve already mixed it up in popcorn features and small budgeted films, it is guaranteed that it isn’t the paycheck that lured them. With a noticeable performance, it can lead to   an influx of new and better scripts from Hollywood players. It could be said that Ryan Gosling’s time has come.

After casting Rachel Weisz in the role of the mother, Peter Jackson's feature adaptation of best-selling novel will also include the actor who won critics over for his performance in Half Nelson and will surely knock them dead again with this fall's MGM comedy Lars And The Real Girl. Gosling will play the girl’s father in The Lovely Bones. Variety reports that Jackson will begin lensing in October in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.

Alice Sebold's best-selling novel is a heartbreaking tale narrated by a 14-year old girl — after she has been raped and murdered. From heaven, she observes her shattered family's attempt to heal, as a detective tries to solve the case and as her killer moves along his demented path.
