Keener and Fonda Find ‘Peace, Love & Misunderstanding’ with Beresford’s Next

If I could get dime every time Bruce Beresford’s name was attached to a project, I’d have made at least a buck in the last decade. Just recently mentioned as the person who’d be taking the director’s chair in Enchantress Of Numbers – the tale of the first female computer geek before computers were invented — it now seems as if that gig is doubtful for anytime soon, as the filmmaker has landed a generational dramedy featuring the rarely seen Jane Fonda taking on some acting work and would be paired along with Catherine Keener.

Production Weekly reports that Bruce Beresford will direct Peace, Love & Misunderstanding in NY this July. Set on a rural farm, this is about three generations of women in one family: the grandmother (Fonda), mother (Keener), and daughter – which should be cast sometime soon. André Fleuren, Bereford’s DP on Evelyn, has also boarded the project.

The estrogen  filled pic would be a significant project for Beresford, as Mao’s Last Dancer appears to be headed towards to the same non-theatrical direction as The Contract, the direct-to-dvd thriller starring Morgan Freeman.
