The ol’ rumor mill is in full swing! Don’t worry though, this doesn’t fall into any gossip category, this is actually cool interesting stuff if it could actually be confirmed. Some crazed fan ran into Michael Keaton at a restaurant in Disney Land, California, and overstepped a few social boundaries by asking for an autograph and about future projects that lie ahead for our favorite underrated actor. Now Keaton might have just said anything to make this loon get the hell away from him and his family, but let’s bear with him; the fan asked him about the rumors that Keaton might play the Joker in the Batman sequel, but he said it’s not likely ‘cuz the new franchise running-into-the-ground-gag is separate from the previous one, but apparently we can expect him to re-team with Tim Burton for a Beetlejuice sequel when the script is done and there are no conflicting schedules. In theory, that does sound amazing… but, “in theory”, I should be able to do at least 10 push-ups, in a row no less, without reaching for my asthma medecine or ending up in the emergency room. Let’s wait and see.
The coolest part is that Keaton said he’s slated to play in “Project Terror”, Quentin Tarantino’s half of his and Robert Rodriguez’ joint horror movie project Grind. That would also have him re-teaming with his Jackie Brown writer-director, which I find suits him better than a sequel with as-of-late-no-talent-hack Burton.
Keaton’s next project is called The Last Time, and co-stars Amber Valetta (Man About Town), Michael Lerner (Barton Fink) and Brendan Fraser (the poor man’s Craig Bierko).
