Look for just about every major trade to get into Fall film preview season (EW already started). We are completing that along with multiple special features for September coinciding with further TIFF preparation. Here are the news bits we didn’t have a chance to cover in depth.

1. Nothing off the Charts
A week showing for specialty films this past weekend (Via IndieWIRE.com)

2. Bahrani’s Plastic Bag Fills Up
Update on Sunday’s piece. Just got news from the filmmaker himself that, we should expect a surprise voice as the narrator. My original guess was that his short film wouldn’t carry dialogue/a human voice. I wasn’t wrong, but not entirely right either.

3. Jury Duty
Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panani (Crimson Gold) is the head juror for the Montreal World Film Festival.

4. “Faust” and Furious
Oskar Roehler is in the director’s chair and Moritz Bleibtreu signs on as Mephisto on the classic film remake. (Via The Hollywood Reporter)

5. A Series of Dent Marks in U.S. History
Oliver Stone is creating a 10-part documentary series for Showtime titled “Secret History of America.” I’m really curious to see what he can dig up. (Via The Hollywood Reporter).

6. Distinctly Spanish in Spain, U.S of A in Normandy
Film Fest Updates for Deauville and San Sebastien (Horizontes Latinos)

7. The Terminal
A second One sheet for Up in the Air preems on the web. (See here).

8. Different Vantage Point
CEO Harry Sloan steps down from current ranking. (Via THR)

1/2. Produced by David Lynch and directed by…?
ThePlaylist nails it — oddball trailer and distinctly feels Lynchian when Werner Herzog is the director.
