Hitchcock made plenty of folks afraid of the skies with The Birds, now it seems that the pesky grackle in the form of Matthew McConaughey will make its way to the screen with comedy director David O. Russell behind the lenses.
Russell, who just completed the troubled production of Nailed (Biel-Gyllenhaal), is in talks to direct the R-rated comedy The Grackle. Mike Arnold and Chris Poole’s script would feature a McConaughey who plays a barroom fighter in New Orleans who hires himself out for $250 to settle disputes for people who can’t afford a lawyer. Harsh language and quick fists are his weapons of choice.
New Line had picked up the spec script in 2006.
