Hollywood Elsewhere has nabbed the first look at the poster for The Darjeeling Limited – Wes Anderson’s latest foreign land misadventure. What the film poster reveals is a spoiler of sorts: in the top right portion of the poster we can amke out the little lion symbol – which means the film looks to be headed to the Venice film festival – (it had been previously selected as the opening night film for the New York Film Fest this Septmber). Fox Searchlight Pictures releases this on Sept. 29th.
Scripted by Anderson, Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman, this is an emotional comedy about three brothers re-forging family bonds. The eldest, played by Wilson, hopes to reconnect with his two younger siblings by taking them on a train trip across the vibrant and sensual landscape of India.
The film got shifted from a holiday release to a late September release. What is enjoyable with the Anderson-movie poster reportoire is how the characters are “centered” and how their backgrounds give a clear indication for the type of settings these zany storylines we find ourselves in.
