TIFF 2009 Day 8: Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass

Edward Norton gets a full workout, but I can’t help but think that this comedy panders to a more facile moviegoer.

The press screening was set at a nauseating 8:30 in the morning and to make matters worse, Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass fails to elevate the idea of having 2 for the price of 1 beyond the gimmick level – that is unless you consider a story-line of redneck misadventures and city folk learning a thing or two about Southern living as worthy film viewing. Edward Norton gets a full workout, but I can’t help but think that this comedy panders to a more facile moviegoer. Full review coming soon.
