The Gist: This is about the life and death of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara. The true story of Argentinean-born doctor and revolutionary leader Ernesto “Che” Guevara (1928-1967), most famous for leading Fidel Castro’s forces against Batista. Part 1 (The Argentine) begins as Che and a band of Cuban exiles (led by Fidel Castro) reach the Cuban shore from Mexico in 1956. Within two years, they mobilized popular support and an army and toppled the U.S.-friendly regime of dictator Fulgencio Batista.

Fact: Soderbergh was attached to the project back in 2003.

See It: Double dose of Soderbergh this year – question is could Del Toro receive two noms for Best Actor for the same role?

Release Date/Status?: Currently in post-prod, I’m very curious to see what kind of strategy will be employed with Guerrilla to follow right after.
