Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2011: Julian Farino’s The Oranges

From the same family of films as Nothing is Private and American Beauty, my thinking is that plenty of folks will dig the tone of yet another BlackList screenplay I’ve got on this list. Cast comprised by Leighton Meester, Hugh Laurie, Catherine Keener, Alia Shawkat, Adam Brody, Allison Janney and Oliver Platt should be rather entertaining.

The Gist: The Ostroff and Walling families are best friends and neighbors, living across the street from each other on Orange Drive. Prodigal daughter Nina Ostroff (Meester) returns home for Thanksgiving dinner after a five-year absence, newly broken up with her fiancé Ethan (Rosen). Rather than developing an interest in the successful son of her neighbors, Toby Walling (Brody), which would please both families, it’s her parents’ best friend David Walling (Laurie) that captures Nina’s attention. ….(more)

Release Date/Status?: This is awaiting a big festival premiere followed by a pick-up….but a pick-up could very well occur before a fest premiere.
