Trailer: Interview

“…first of three remake films dedicated to Van Gogh, this is perhaps not the most profound of the tales to come – but in a time where a photo of a star in a tight spot is worth millions, the examination of celebrity and our fascination with it should find several curious onlookers.” –

One of the better films that follows the rule tell and don't show, this talkie piece that preemed in Park City is getting its theatrical release via Sony Pictures Classics in New York and Los Angeles next month (July 13) before expanding nationwide. We have the trailer in mutliple formats for you below.

Directed by and starring Steve Buscemi, Interview is based on the late director, Theo Van Gogh’s film. Set in present day New York City, Pierre Peters (Buscemi) is a fading political journalist who at one time found success as a highly respected war correspondent. After a falling out with his editor, he is assigned to interview Katya (Sienna Miller), one of the country’s hottest young actresses. Katya stars on a hit soap opera and in extremely successful but campy B-rate movies. Devastated, Pierre must follow Katya through her daily routines including the bombardment of fans and paparazzi. Their meeting is a collision of Pierre’s serious political intentions and Katya’s superficial world of celebrity. As their time progresses, their confessions grow more intimate and both get more than they bargained for. In the end, Pierre Peters ends up getting the witty and most desirable interview to date.
