White Stripes Canadian Tour to Preem at TIFF?

They kept a film crew for what I imagine would have been a cool postcard look back and perhaps a DVD release, but word from the music blogs today is that The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights is supposed to close the next edition of the Toronto FIlm Festival.

It was an unconventional 2007 tour to say the least – most bands who cover Canada will hit the three major cities of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, but Jack White thought it would be a great idea to tour the country by making pit stops in every province and every territory including the little populated spots of the far North to the isolated east coast where his roots are traced. Along they way, The White Stripes made some awkward impromptu stops (see some evidence of it below) on a city transit bus and a boat in a harbor and that’s just to name a few. They kept a film crew for what I imagine would have been a cool postcard look back and perhaps a DVD release, but word from the music blogs today is that The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights is supposed to close the next edition of the Toronto FIlm Festival. The news would should like a stretch if it weren’t for the fact that Jack White came to TIFF last year with Davis Guggenheim‘s It Will Get Loud and the fact that this road documentary works as a perfect homage to the maple leaf suggests. My only question at this point would be: who directed the doc? Does anyone know about Michel Gondry’s whereabouts during the time period concert dates below?
