Starring the physically perfect Elena Anaya and an Antonio Banderas in Best Male lead performance form, Almodovar's The Skin I Live In is currently tied for first on our critics' poll and as we for further votes, this could be in the poll position by the end of the day, that is depending on what the other critics thought.

Those who remember Pedro Almodovar's earlier work recall that before Penelope and at the same time as Carmen Maura, there was Antonio Banderas. I'm not prepared to call this film as going outside the filmmaker's comfort zone as jealousy and revenge are frequent themes in his body of work, but this one appears to be siding in somewhat of a different category in his long filmography. I look forward in seeing Elena Anaya's game face in a Pedro film and of course the habitual qualities that are the make-up of his works such as composer Alberto Iglesias' involvement.

The film tells the story of a disturbing revenge plan led by a plastic surgeon, and a film adaptation of the Thierry Jonquet novel “Tarantula” and stars Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya, Roberto Álamo and Marisa Paredes. The three month shooting will take place first in Santiago de Compostela, in the north of Spain, moving thereafter to Pazo de Oca and finishing in Madrid and the whereabouts of Toledo.
