With no interest from the IFCs, SPCs and the Magnolia Pictures of the business, Ted Hope has turned inwards to distribute Todd Solondz’s Dark Horse....
Proving once again that he draws strength in numbers, Todd Solondz's ensemble cast will include Christopher Walken, Mia Farrow (can you imagine these two in a Solondz world?!) and returnee Selma Blair who perhaps took on her most uncomfortable role in her career by appearing in Solondz' 2001 film, Storytelling.
Not much is known on Todd Solondz's next film except that Production Weekly is calling it an edgy character drama and that Justin Bartha, Jordan Gelber & Aasif Mandvi are joining the project set to begin filming this Fall.
Can't say there are many surprises with today's list, we discussed possible spots for Jacques Rivette, Michael Moore, Werner Herzog, Michele Placido, Todd Solondz, Jaco van Dormael, Patrice Chereau, Fatih Akin, Claire Denis and John Hillcoat's The Road (yes, there is a Santa Clause) beforehand.
Sony Pictures Classics will showcasing Broken Embraces, An Education and one of the best pictures of the year in A Prophet to North American audiences, while TIFF's North American premiere of Todd Solondz's latest means that Life During Wartime will be in Venice as well.
