Set in 1992 Rhode Island, the film follows an entrepreneurial former Pan Am flight attendant named Emanuella who opens a drive-through condom kiosk in her conservative Italian Catholic hometown, becoming an unlikely lightning rod for cultural change.
Grace Van Patten was the first to be cast in the lead, and the film has been populated by Emmy Rossum, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ariana Greenblatt, Chris Bauer, Fina Strazza, Fisher Stevens, Michael Imperioli, Ricky Staffieri, and Will Harrison.
Willa’s Elizabeth Woodward and Stone Fruit Productions’ Tara Sheffer are producing. The cinematographer here is Robert Leitzell.
With production having taken place this past May and June, the production team will be eyeing a Sundance debut.
