For those who did not get enough out of Boiler Room, or think that pairing of Scorsese and DiCaprio delivers in spades (this is their fifth collaboration), then The Wolf of Wall Street, a white collar-ish crime tale contains more testosterone than The Departed did. I’ve yet to read the novel, but Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey should be interesting supporting players.

Gist: Based on the novel by Jordan Belfort, this centers on Belfort (DiCaprio), a Long Island penny stockbroker who served 20 months in prison for refusing to cooperate in a massive 1990s securities fraud case that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration.

Release Date: Currently in post – I wouldn’t be surprised if Paramount secures an awards-friendly spot, and if they decided to go before December, this could reach for an East Coast (NYFF) or West Coast (AFI Film Fest) friendly premiere.
