2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Jody Hill’s Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter

Published on

It’s more with HBO’s “Vice Principals,” and “Eastbound & Down,” than oddball goofball offering in the Sundance preemed The Foot Fist Way (2006) and tonally edgy Observe and Report (2009) where Jody Hill, alongside
creative collaborator Danny McBride has built his comedic strong-arm. A positively intriguingly titled third feature film that is being kept under wraps is centered around a young protagonist – and so we imagine there could be some moral decay in The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter. Lensing wrapped in July, so this is definitely ready to supersede and replace the lies of National Lampoon’s Vacation’s Griswold family. Josh Brolin, Scoot McNairy and newbie Montana Jordan star.

Gist: Co-written by John Carcieri, Jody Hill and Danny McBride, this is about Jaden, a cool and confident sixth-grade boy (Montana Jordan), who is supposed to be bonding with his father on a hunting trip, but Jaden wants to do anything but!

Production Co./Producers: Scott Rudin (Yeh Din Ka Kissa)

Prediction: Premiere category, SXSW and or Tribeca.

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available. TBD (domestic). TBD (international)
