2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Peer Pedersen’s We Don’t Belong Here

He worked on a couple of titles as a producer including the TIFF preemed Megan Griffiths’ Lucky Them (2013) and the Sundance preemed, unfathomably hard to believe true story docu Finders Keepers (2015). For his debut feature film, which lensed as “The Greens Are Gone” in Massachusetts back in July of 2015, Peer Pedersen loaded the thriller with Sundance names/faces and is one of the handful of remaining final Anton Yelchin films. We Don’t Belong Here stars Catherine Keener, Kaitlyn Dever, Maya Rudolph, Riley Keough, Annie Starke, Justin Chatwin, Molly Shannon and Cary Elwes. With lots of time in post production, this is ready for a fest showing.

Gist: When a Mother (Keener) can’t reach her troubled son (Yelchin) her daughter (Dever) begins to investigate their family’s troubled past. Soon the past becomes the present, bringing a sinister character and an unknowable oddity with it.

Prediction: Chances are low for a Park City at Midnight showing, but Tribeca showing could be in the cards.
