Homeland Insecurity: Jennifer Morrison Joins Directing Boot Camp with “Sun Dogs”

Published on

Actress Jennifer Morrison is moving behind the camera for her directorial debut, and by the same token is launching her production co. Written by Anthony Tambakis (Jane Got a Gun, next year’s American Express), Deadline reports that Sun Dogs should begin lensing sometime this summer. Morrison will co-produce with Andrew Carlberg (Some Girl(s)).

Gist: This follows a young misfit with three failed attempts to join the Marines under his belt. Taking a Marine officer’s advice to “protect the homefront” a little too seriously, he sets his sights on a casino manager who may or may not be a terrorist mastermind, and enlists the help of young runaway, forming the most unlikely possible anti-terroroism unit in a story of love, friendship and homeland security.

Worth Noting: Morrison acted in and Tambakis wrote Gavin O’Connor’s Warrior (2011).

Do We Care?: Casting choices will ultimately add “interest” weight to the project.
