Hot off the heels of a huge SXSW premiere and with a Grand Jury Prize win to boot, Adam Leon’s feature debut has been picked up by the folks at IFC and keeping with a stellar month of March, it’ll be highlighted at the New Directors/New Films festival which officially kicks off this week. While no release date has been mentioned, we expect Gimme the Loot to show this summer with, if lucky, an international premiere at a sidebar such as Cannes Critics’ Week.

Gist: Described by Variety as “compulsively watchable, brimming with enough details to make this modest film grow large in the memory,” this tales the story of Malcolm and Sofia’s latest graffiti masterpiece is buffed by a rival gang, these two tough Bronx teens must hustle, steal, and scheme to get spectacular revenge and become the biggest writers in the City.

Worth Noting: Leon got his start in the biz by working on a pair of Woody Allen films (Hollywood Ending, Melinda and Melinda) as production and office assistant.
